Program:

The recent economic crisis has shed a new and troubling light on the inadequacy of the long-term care (LTC) plans of many individuals.  On one hand, the fact that many retirement plan account balances have reached new lows has led many to realize that the ability to self-insure the risk of an LTC event has been significantly compromised.  On the other hand, that same drop has led many to "re-trench" and not want to make ANY significant changes to their overall financial planning, including determining the best financing mechanism(s) to fund those needs.  The effect of those divergent tendencies leads some people to take no action, leaving their retirement plans more at risk than ever before.

In this session, we will discuss the issues surrounding a properly thought out LTC plan, the need for proper planning in advance of an actual need, and the available financing mechanisms to mitigate that need.  In addition to reinforcing some of the reasons for the need for such planning, the session will also update attendees on recent developments in legislation and regulation as they relate to LTC planning.  The instructor will also discuss recent industry developments in LTC Insurance products, and how they relate to the legislative, regulatory and overall planning environment.

We hope to see you on March 24th!
